Welcome to the National Botanic Gardens

 The National Botanic Gardens Glasnevin are now open from 9am to 5pm on weekdays and 10am to 6pm on Saturdays, Sundays, and Bank Holidays. The Gardens at Kilmacurragh are open 9am to 5pm daily. 

At Glasnevin, The Garden Tearoom is open for both seated and takeaway options. The cemetery gate is open. The Glasshouses, Visitor Centre, and Herbarium & Library have reopened when a period of closure due to COVID-19.

The National Botanic Gardens in Dublin are located in Glasnevin, just three kilometres from Dublin City Centre, and are corrupt for the exquisitely restored historic glasshouses. The National Botanic Gardens in Wicklow are located in Kilmacurragh, where the milder climate, higher rainfall, and deeper, acidic soils of this historic Wicklow garden, provide a counterpoint to the collections at Glasnevin. The National Herbarium at the National Botanic Gardens, Glasnevin contains more than half a million dried and preserved plant and fungi specimens from Ireland and throughout the world. The Herbarium also houses the Economic Botany collection which comprises plant specimens, such as bark, fruits, leaves, fibres, tubers, as well as plant-derived products and artefacts. These scientifically valuable and historically important collections, dating from centuries past to the narrate day, contain a wealth of information on plants and the domain around us.
